How to create a course?
From TorontoMathWiki
Yael Karshon asked: I'd like to make a wiki page for my graduate course "Hamiltonian group actions". I couldn't figure out how to do this. (I registered on the wiki. I went to "Category:Courses" and pressed "edit". But it let me add text rather than add a new link.) Any suggestions?
From the timetable, I see that Yael's course data is:
MAT1347HS Hamiltonian Group Actions Y. Karshon M3
W12-2 BA2185
Let's create the course by typing 2010S MAT1347HS Hamiltonian Group Actions. When this is first typed, a link will be created with which will appear in red. After some content is put into that page, the link will turn blue. Next, I will click on the red link and add content to the page by clicking on edit. I'll add the cateogory lines at the bottom of the page so that the course appears on category pages. Colliand 22:55, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
You can type into the wiki search box on the top left corner. The search will offer you to create a new page. Then you can copy an existing course to use it as a template. Balint 12:04 9 January 2012
To create a page in the wiki, you have to give it a name inside double square brackets. When saved, that action creates a red link. Clicking on that link takes you to an editor where you can add content to that page. For course creation, please try to follow the naming template used by other course creators in the past. At the bottom of your course page, please add Category:Courses inside double square brackets to make your course appear in the list in the courses category. Colliand 10:40, 8 January 2013 (EST)
